Kin & Keeping (Reception Book 2)
About
The family of Static & Signals, fifteen years on.
At fifteen, Samuel Fisher couldn’t imagine telling anyone he was in love with a boy, let alone marrying one. Now that boy, Connor Kelly, wants to marry him, and in a handful of states, they finally can. Samuel would happily settle for a quiet courthouse, if only Connor weren’t the pop star the whole world has been watching since he was a teenager.
All the while, Samuel’s sister Amy has been raising her son, Noah, on her own in Indiana. The two of them fought tooth and nail as kids, but she’s grown up since, and these days she goes out of her way to be the big sister she never was.
It started with Noah. From the day he was born, Amy made sure his uncles were part of his life. Now he’s eight, and he spends his summers in St. Louis, sleeping in Connor’s old bedroom and calling them Uncle Sammie and Uncle Connor. He doesn’t know who his father is. Not even Amy could tell you.
For years, Amy has worked as a nurse, looking after other people. When the patient turns out to be her, she means to handle it on her own too, thank you, the way she handles everything.
As his mom fades, Noah starts looking to his uncles to become the dads he’s never had. And Samuel has to learn what he can and can’t do for a sister who won’t let anyone help.
Samuel and Connor grew up together once. Now they have to do it again, this time for a boy who needs them.
